Inking Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! Today’s Blog Hop is filled to the brim with projects that celebrate birthdays. The opening line from The Beatles’ “Birthday” song ran through our heads as we joyfully created the birthday-themed creations we share with you today. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

For today’s hop, I made a square card (4 1/4 inches).  I like the proportion of the stamped basket in the square format. I will mail this card in a standard envelope, to avoid additional postage charges.

I stamped the Blossoming Basket (Saleabration item 147505) on a layer of Very Vanilla (101650) card stock.  The “happy birthday “ sentiment is from the Picture Perfect Birthday (145519) set.  The basket and flowers were colored with Stampin Blends in both shades of Pink Pirouette (144604), Old Olive (144597) and Crumb Cake (144601). The larger center flower was “fussy cut”, then popped up on Stampin dimensionals.

The colored image was then mounted on a layer of Pink Pirouette (111351) embellished with Linen Thread (104199), Then attached to a card base of So Saffron (105118). I added clear Wink of Stella (141897) to the flowers.

Fancy Fold with Picture Perfect Birthday

Today I am stalking the UPS dude in anticipation of the arrival of all my Valentine goodies. The shipment was delayed due to weather.

While waiting, I made a birthday card for a friend. This card features the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set (145519), Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper (145559), and Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon (145489).

Fancy folds are always an easy and inexpensive way to make a plain card special. This fold has been around, but Connie Stewart recently featured it on her blog and inspired me, as always.

Remember, it is Saleabration time! Lots of free goodies available with purchases.

Stay tuned for lots of Valentine goodness coming soon!

I made a book! Petal Passion Designer Series Paper

Bookmaking has been on my list of  “things to learn” for several years now.

Yesterday, I was able to complete that goal thanks to a class sponsored by Little River Arts Council (LRAC). The class was taught by my friend and amazing local artist, Lydia Randolph.

Lydia offered us a huge array of papers, ribbons, vintage wall paper and other goodies, but my heart was set on our new Petal Passion Designer Series Paper and Berry Burst metallic edge ribbon.

The paper features flowers in black and white. I watercolored them with my ink pads and an aqua

painter. The little bit of sparkle comes from clear Wink of Stella.

Many thanks to Lydia and LRAC!  Here is how it turned out.

Thanks for looking!
