#GDP40 Global Design Project A challenge and some serendipity

I have been wondering what to use for my first blog post, until Brian King posted about the Global Design Project.

#GDP40 is to be a case of this great card by Shawn DE Oliveira.

Shawn is a very talented member of our team. I didn’t know if I could hang with him, but when I realized (serendipity here) he used one of my favorite sets (Butterfly Basics) and he colored the image (my favorite thing to do), I had to give it a shot.

I used Butterfly Basics and Timeless Textures stamp sets. Card stock is a crumb cake base (Shawn’s favorite), Peekaboo Peach layer, water color paper for the image (stamped in Archival Black ink), and a strip of Dapper Denim.

I colored the image with Peekaboo Peach and Pear Pizzazz, using my clear Wink of Stella pen. Sadly, the picture doesn’t pick up the shimmer!

  1. Imogene this is beautiful. I really like the bright yellow background paired with the bright blue and your watercoloring is perfect. A gorgeous CASE of Shawn’s card. Thank you so much for playing along to the Global Design Project this week. xo

  2. Sometimes I get lucky with bling shots shooting them at an laying down angle with the light coming from two different directions ( like on the table where I stamp) and just crop it down. Love the texture mix on this Imogene 🙂

  3. LOVE that dapper denim color!

  4. Imogene – not only do I love to see you sharing with a blog, but I’m thrilled that you are CASEing a card by Shawn as your first entry. Woo hoo! This is gorgeous – I love the pairing of blue and yellow and the gorgeous texture you created on the blue panel. What a lovely card – your coloring is beautiful.

  5. Imogene, thanks so much for CASEing my card as your first blog post. I’m both thrilled and honored. I also love that you used Crumb Cake—it really is my favorite. Not sure if you noticed, but you won a Special Mention for this card. I’m so glad you did. Thanks again.
