How could I resist this fun challenge, featuring Steffi Helmschrott’s take on my favorite set, Butterfly Basics?
I wanted to watercolor, yet keep my card simple, as did Steffi. This was a good opportunity to try a technique using the stamp set and matching Thinlit Die.
First, I created a loose water color wash using our Stampin Up! water color paper, water brush, and stamp pads in Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, and Flirty Flamingo.
I cut the butterfly Thinlit from the front of a Thick Whisper White card, then mounted the water color piece behind the opening left by the die cut.
The die cut was then replaced with one cut from our Gold Glimmer Paper. The card was finished off with the “Happy Birthday” sentiment, stamped in Emerald Envy, and a bow of Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon.
I hope you enjoy my finished card.
