Rose Wonder Sympathy Card

I find it difficult to make sympathy cards, but I did my best in honor of the friend who passed, and his family of people that I love. I suggest keeping a couple of simple sympathy cards made in advance. (both masculine and feminine) You can customize the card by writing a private note on the inside. Another tip is to make up several cards and leave a space on them to add the sentiment of your choice later.

Rose Wonder, peekaboo peach

This card was made with the Rose Wonder set. I water colored with Peekaboo Peach and Pear Pizzazz. Note how the colors change when mixed with water. The card stocks used were water color, whisper white and Basic Black.

One of our Grands is at the beach this week. Isn’t she cute?

#GDP40 Global Design Project A challenge and some serendipity

I have been wondering what to use for my first blog post, until Brian King posted about the Global Design Project.

#GDP40 is to be a case of this great card by Shawn DE Oliveira.

Shawn is a very talented member of our team. I didn’t know if I could hang with him, but when I realized (serendipity here) he used one of my favorite sets (Butterfly Basics) and he colored the image (my favorite thing to do), I had to give it a shot.

I used Butterfly Basics and Timeless Textures stamp sets. Card stock is a crumb cake base (Shawn’s favorite), Peekaboo Peach layer, water color paper for the image (stamped in Archival Black ink), and a strip of Dapper Denim.

I colored the image with Peekaboo Peach and Pear Pizzazz, using my clear Wink of Stella pen. Sadly, the picture doesn’t pick up the shimmer!
