Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge PPA307

Happy 4th of July! Today I am happy to participate in this color challenge from my Stampin Up! leader, Brian King:

I thought this was a great choice for a patriotic birthday card, and I already have a special person in mind for my card.

I used the new Stampin Up! set Marquee Messages. Archival Black ink was used for all the stamping on my card. The marquee and sentiments are stamped first on a piece of Pool Party card stock.

Next I stamped the arrow on Real Red card stock, set the rhinestones, cut out the arrow and mounted it with Stamping Dimensionals.

The Night of Navy layer was off set on the Real Red card base, then the Pool Party layer was popped up with Stamping Dimensionals.

Here is my finished card:

PPA307, Marquee Messages, Real Red, Pool Party, Night of Navy

Thanks so much for joining me. Have a happy 4th of July!

A special birthday card

Yesterday was my sweet Lyla Kate’s seventh birthday! We are celebrating with a tea party today, so I had to use this

“Have a Cuppa” (no longer available) Designer Paper Stack. I used Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Whisper White card stock.

I stamped the flower (from Love and Affection set) in Archival Black and colored with Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz. I covered it with Wink of Stella, and added a medium rhinestone. (You can see the twinkle of the Wink of Stella in the close up photo)

The sentiment (from Suite Sayings) is stamped in Melon Mambo.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Inking Royalty June Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop!  Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Annual Catalog introduced us to five new In Colors:  Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.  What a beautiful collection of versatile colors!  Today’s Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that feature each artist’s favorite new In Color.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Since I used Butterfly Basics and Timeless Textures on my GDP40 card, I have been wanting to do a vintage collage type card using these two sets.

I did my collage piece using stamps from both sets (inks used were Sweet Sugarplum, in 1st and 2nd generations, Dapper Denim for the sentiment and the little three dimensional butterfly, and a bit of crumb cake 2nd generation over the sentiment).

All I had left to do was add  Thick White baker’s twine (super easy to work with), and layer like crazy with card stock in Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White.

Now wasn’t that easy and fun? Here is my finished card:

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop,

Imogene Thomas
